Today I am going to blog about... waves! Its been a long time since I blogged so I made this a special edition. A wave is formed when the wind transfers energy into the water! however if the water is not shallow enough the wave will not break. A wave usually breaks when it hits a sandbar, a area of sand that helps a wave to break. Also the bigger the wave the deeper it breaks. Breaking just means the wave crashes. you know a wave broke because it creates white water. White water is crumbly white water. waves are strongly effected by tides, when the tide goes out the waves break further out when the tide goes in the waves break closer to shore. There are different ways the waves can break not just at a sand bar, these places include: point break, reef break, and river break. And one more fact when the sandbar incline is gradual the wave breaks soft and crumbly but if the incline is sharp the wave curls over and forms a tube. I hope you learned something from this blog, bye for now!
